The American University in Dubai invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Academic Advisor. This role is vital in providing academic advising to undergraduate students throughout their academic journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with their advising needs, both in-person and by appointment.
- Collaborate with fellow Academic Advisors to ensure effective advising processes.
- Guide students in course selection, registration, and understanding academic policies.
- Support undecided students in choosing programs that align with their strengths and career goals.
- Offer advice to students facing academic challenges, including course loads and withdrawal processes.
- Maintain and update advising records for continuity and assessment purposes.
- Teach one course per semester (up to 4 credits).
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (Doctoral degrees considered) from an accredited university.
- Previous experience in academic advising in a Western higher education system is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and dedication to student success.
- Experience working with a diverse student body is a plus.
